Thai Anbu Illam, Salem
Thai Anbu Illam started only in 2009 and is located at Agraharam. Ayodhipattinam, Salem. Mrs.Sumathi a well experienced social worker is managing the home. At present there are 20 children staying in the home. The food, accommodation, education, health care, dress materials and other requirements are provided to the children. It is a rented building and the school is within 2 kms from the home.
All the 20 children are girls. The cook, security and the Manager are women and they take care of the children very well. There are number of requirements and we are trying to fulfil one after another to make it a real home for the children.Ms.Augusta Sveinsdotrir, who is a volunteer, visited India during summer looked around many projects around tamilnadu and stayed in Salem girls home with the children.
And Augusta had taken a very good effort in getting sponsors in Iceland for the children, which really encouraged us to enable to help the children for various requirements.
We thank all the parents who sponsor the children. The picture of each child is on the gallery, please have a look.

Education Programme
we help the students with Note books, school bag, Uniforms and stationeries as one packet to each child every year. The poor and needy children are identified through our volunteers in different parts of Tamil Nadu. 200 children benefitted through educational programme. The children are chosen mostly from the places where are tuition centres are located. They are Chromepet, Theedir Nagar, Vadalur, Salem, and Thellimedu.

We Thank Friends of India for helping the deserving and poor children of Tamilnadu in various villages and cities.

For the Education Aid Programme, the funds are being raised every year in Iceland and the volunteers are being invited to distribute in India during the start of Academic year for the students.
Distance Adoption Programme
Orphans, semi orphans and very needy children are chosen and they are linked to a donor. The donor through our Trust pay a sum of his choice to help the child contine his/her education. Also the widow mother of the child is helped with some self help project so that they become independent in course of time.

The donor will received two letters in a year from the child. Also we provide with all information as and when required by the donor. We also encourage the donor to pay directly in school to encourage participation and bring about transparency. At present 20 children are adopted and we are planning to increase the number to 50.

Goat /Poultry Growing Programme

The poor women are identified and supplied with Goat and Poultry .They are required not to pay back anything except a Goat or a Chicken when it multiplies to be able to help another family. So far 5 families at Vadalur have been helped

The People in Iceland gift the families in India in a form of goat, chicken, Rabbits, Rice bags, Night Lamp, and Sewing Machines and etc... This really benefits the families of Tamilnadu for them to earn a little to run the family.

Future Plans
To Construct a home for the children.

To adopt 200 children and help them until they get employment.
